Do not be a Fool in 2013 – Melinda’s Friday Message

If this your first time visiting my blog please take a moment to subscribe to my blog while you are here via email.

Welcome to another of my guide Melinda’s Friday messages about how to live life. Melinda and I work together to help people through the tarot readings I deliver. Melinda was a reader in her life. She has a great perspective drawn from both her last lifetime, being born in 1696, and her subsequent time as a spirit.

Tarot of Marseille - The Fool

If you would like your life to continue to grow and thrive take time to reflect. The Fool lives in the now so fully that he often takes a long time to learn from his mistakes. The choice is yours.

So here we are getting close to the ending of another year. As I have suggested recently the actual calendar is somewhat irrelevant. However, it is still a convenient time to check in on how you are doing with your life. It is a good time to take ownership of your progress and the things that have not worked out. It is not a good time to feel bad about these things in anyway. Guilt has no place on the spiritual path.

Guilt is only appropriate when we willfully go against what we know to be the right thing. If this is your issue I cannot help you. Guilt is not appropriate for mistakes, things that did not work out, our inability to help someone or be what they wanted. All of this guilt comes from some kind of judgement against the way things are. It is not helpful or appropriate.

So as we sit here at the edge of another year I would like you to ask yourself some questions. You can do this with your tarot cards and a journal or just with a journal. Do take the time to write it down as this will help you focus better. Try and be honest with yourself. Remember no one else need see this. The answers should be whatever comes up. If it is ‘work’ that went well and ‘social life’ that went poorly just write those answers. There is nothing to be gained from embellishing or arguing  with the facts.

Learn from your own life if you want a better 2013!

  1. What area of my life was the most successful this year?
  2. What made it successful?
  3. What area of my life failed to get where I hoped it would?
  4. What got in the way of it being as successful as I wanted?
  5. What stands out as the difference between these two things?
  6. What did I do to create success (question 2) that I did not do in the area that was not what I hoped it would be (question 3)?
  7. How can you apply this action (question 6) to make my life better in 2013?

Once you have gone through these questions take time to really sit with the last answer. I would suggest taking some further step with it like distilling it into a word or phrase to help you remember it better. Choosing a card or crystal to help you keep your attention on it. I will remind you to check in on this in a few months.

Thank you for listening. I wish you all the best in the new year.
