The Emperor – finally shows his face!

After a few versions of the Emperor I feel like he has finally showed his face. I am realizing as I go along with the creation of my deck that a few things are important as themes in the art I am making for the cards. One is that the characters need to be outdoors – nature is important to my conception of the cards and their energies. Secondly, animals are also really important. Birds especially seem to be playing an important role in conveying the ideas of the cards too. I am surprised by this realization. I love nature but am not one for working with animal totems or those kind of things. I am curious where it is all taking me.

Here is the winner.
