Welcome to another of my guide Melinda’s Friday messages about how to live life. If you’d like to know more about her and what she has to say you can find more in the first post in this series.
If your life is going great you might not need to read today’s post. You might want to read it and ear mark it for future consideration. Just do not let it make you question the great day, week or life you are having right now. Everyone else please read on.
Please just stop what you are doing. Melinda’s Friday Message.
Sometimes you just have to stop what you are doing. It is not about blame or what could have been, or should have been. If something is not working stop it. If something has faded from its original lustre and no longer makes you happy the best thing you might do is stop and let it go.
I see many people who come for guidance who are so caught in their thoughts around whatever is bothering them that they do not even think to just put it down. I certainly mean just put down and walk away.
Are you upset because an old lover has found someone else? Put it down.
Have you grown beyond your current home? Let it go and move on.
Is your current relationship or job no longer fulfilling? Put them down too.
If someone else wants it let them pick it up. If the earth eats it in the fullness of time that is good too. If it gathers dust so be it. If children poke holes in it and throw rocks at it – well at least it being put to some use. If it self destructs and creates a drama for the ages that is its choice. Just put it down and leave it there.
But by put it down I mean to let it go without attachment, drama, or hope of some return. Watch your heart, watch your language and watch your expectations to make sure that you have truly left it behind. Perhaps give that trouble a loving kiss on the tops of its head and leave it at the side of the road for someone else who might find a blessing in it.
Thanks for listening.
