Where should you be looking for true love? Melinda’s Friday Message
I promised I would come back to finding love. I know many of you are looking, hoping, wishing and perhaps even scheming. I think I should warn you to expect to be disappointed by my advice.
The first step is to make your life glorious. Too many people fill their life with things that they do to bide their time till they get the life that they want. Work to make your life a wonder to yourself. To be clear, this is not so much to help you find a mate as it is to help you deal with yourself. Ask yourself daily if your life is as you want it to be, if you are as you want to be, and you will get there. I told you that you might not like the advice – but until you deal with yourself and your own foibles – only luck will help you find love.
Do not go looking for love. Just live your life and see who comes around you. If they are not fantastic then do not pay them attention. Live within your heart’s reality. I had my share of romance before meeting my husband – it is a matter of what is in your heart whether you should do the same or not. If you confuse sex with love you should not cross that physical line till you are sure it is love. Please do not be frustrated with what I am saying here – it is the simple truth of the human heart. You either ‘fall in love’ easily, and become too attached before it is warranted when sex is involved, or you do not – there is no in between.
Are you looking for more? There is no big secret beyond this advice. Go to a river on a full moon and cast a silver coin in by the light of the full moon as the girls of my day might have done if you must. You are better off buying something you enjoy with that money and turning your attention on yourself.
Thank you for listening
Melinda
