I am looking for a new employee to help in running The Hermit’s Lamp. I am looking for someone who has experience in retail and who is out going and good at sales, talking on the phone, and computers (MAC). Running a small business means wearing all the hats at one point or another, including cleaning the bathroom and taking out the trash. Please be good at simple math like making change – there will be a test.

This is a queer owned shop. To work here you must be comfortable with people from all cultures, religions, genders, orientations, and spiritual practices. The shop is a safe space. You need to be able to meet people where they are at. 

Speaking Spanish is an asset. 

You don’t need to know everything about the spiritual goodies I sell — I’ll train you on the ins and outs of what things are. 

This is a small business and you need to be a great communicator and good at working closely with co-workers.

Hours are 4-7 Saturday, 2-6 Sunday, 3-7 Monday (12-7 starting in September). This could expand over time – especially over the holiday season. Starting wage is $18.65/hour. You’ll get increases equal to minimum wage as the new increase comes in this fall.

Start date is to be determined. But looking to start training asap.
